Jesse began his Martial Art journey with Shotokan Karate in 1985. After gaining a purple belt in that art and then moving on to other things, he returned to the arts to study Tae Kwon Do and received a red stripe in that style. Leaving Tae Kwon Do for a few years to study Jujutsu & Arnis (where he attained a 3rd degree black belt) he returned to study Tae Kwon Do with Dave Gemberling. He achieved his 1st Dan in Tae Kwon Do in 2002, and 2nd Dan in 2006.
He believe in gaining as much knowledge as possible, and is an avid reader with a large collection of martial art, physiology, philosophy, and self defense books and videos.
